WOW, please do tell. Also maybe adding on the finishing thread. I think I remember you saying you were using cans. I can't comment much about the the cans so your input in that thread would be well received. And judging by the shot from behind the bridge, your finishing is very niiiice.
The jack location however, is nothing short of friggin' awesome!

Hmmm..martino, in looking again, I noticed the hummer being quite high. Does that affect playability? Looks amazingly close to those strings. |

Agreed! That's a GREAT idea for the jack location. I have a Telecoustic with the same jack/strap button combo setup, but it never even crossed my mind to put one on a 51. Kudos to Martino! All around just an awesome guitar that you've created. I like everything about it, and IMO it looks better than those John Cruz "Masterbuilt" 51's that sell for over $4 grand. Probably sounds as good too.
Well done!

Hay thanks for your kind words!
The jack was the simple part I just took it a frends shop and he drilled it with a cordless drill and a long bit it goes in to the humbucker rout.
Pluging the old hole was done with chunk of wood and 2 part epoxy I prefer epoxy over wood filler or bondo cause it does not shrink or crack as much - over fill and sand it a few days later.

the jack is from a acustic/electric got it here
http://cgi.ebay.com/Stereo-Chrome-Strap-Endpin-Jack-for-Acoustic-Guitar_W0QQitemZ130164639117QQihZ003QQcategoryZ47076QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting
The guitar is not setup yet I just put it together and tuned it a buddy of mine said he would set it up for me. My work schudel is crazzy so tha wont be for a few weeks. After that we can talk about the bridge and the pickup hight.
Paint is Krylon O.S.H.A / SAFTY / Farm Equipment orange! then 4 cans of Krylon Glitter I used gold to go with the orange.

And I thought the bridge would get all the fuss . . . the bridge I got from GF and the Compensated Tele Saddles from Stewart-MacDonald . . .(I think???)
http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Bridges,_tailpieces/Electric_guitar,_non-trem_bridge_parts/Compensated_Telecaster_Bridge_Saddles.html
I clamped a toploader tele too the humbucker bridge you see on the guitar back to back for a templet and drilled 3 holes for compensated Tele saddles gives the guitar a Nice look I think!
Of corse I got the idea for the bridge from Boris Bubbanov all the other ideas came from all the wonderfull & highly creative people here + 100 to this greate fourm ! ! !
thanks for lookin !

Now I'm really starting to like the red guitars. If I had to paint a blonde, it would have to be red (I think, maybe not). Bet the jack input makes it less likely that you snatch it out during a gig. Don't you just hate it when someone steps on your cord? By the way, someone offered to buy my miniature '51 with amp and case. I'm supposed to take it next weekend. A girl drummer is going to give it as a Christmas present. I told her $400.00 for the set. Now how's that for a 22 inch long Squier guitar? Think I'll buy me a blonde with the loot and paint it red!
Are you smilin'? |

Uh oh. You've been corrupted, Roscoe! Just when I thought I'd have to leave my blonde stock.

| Martino, congrats on the cool mod. Can you give me some idea how the lipstick pup sounds? I've heard a few strat like pups on a few sound files and they were really good, but I'd sure love to keep the bridge pup and still get some nasty sounds from a lipstick pup. Kind of beginning to miss a tone control.... |

Okay...Nothing really spectacular here, but I think it turned out great. Made a good guitar better I think. That's a three way switch (in strat position) with a new tone control, and I kept the stock push/pull & the stock pickups.

Nice work there. Any plans to mod the pickups at all?

I've thought about it. Any suggestions? I like the general tone I get from the stock pickups, but they are a little thin sounding. I'd also like to keep the black/chrome look for the pickups. |

Martino, the red looks great, pickguard mixes real well color wise and the bridge plate does not appear oversized in your choice of color. Superb. Tell us about what size D'Ads you got, is the break angle adequate using the saddle mount holes for top load; and where did you find those slotted barrels or is that your own work?
Much obliged, and again congrats.
