I get cards, letters, presents and flowers on mother's day. Thanks for the thought, Ernie.

Thanks everyone and same to you all.
I had a wonderful event filled day with my daughter today. While wifey was home painting the kitchen, we went to Modells, bought her a new softball bat and a bunch of Softballs, went to lunch then headed out to the ballfield where we spent a good 2 hours practicing her hitting and fielding for next season.
She wants to be the best softball player on the team and I want to do all I can to help her reach that goal but it was important that I tell her that it doesn;t matter if she's the best as long as she enjoys what she is doing that is all that matters.
Then I came home and opened up all the fathers Day stuff she made for me. The handmade cards, artwork and the like means more to me than any material thing out there.
Between the two of them, they made me realize exactly how proud I am to be their father and husband respectively.
What a great day!

I was just commenting in the cancer discussion. My dad had throat cancer. He went to MD Anderson in Houston. Had the head honcho treating him. German guy named Gephardt or something like that. That Dr made my dad quit using Listerine and blamed it for the cancer. He said it killed the good with the bad and left the throat somewhat defenseless.
