Hi!
When I was playing my Vetta II (2.03) this afternoon, the amp suddenly stopped playing and the right display read: "ACCESS ERROR."
I must add it happened while I was tweaking with L6 Edit 1.97 and while I was connected digitally (Variax).
Switching the Vetta off and on again brought back the sound, I have access to banks and patches and everything seems to work ok, except there´s a little "stripe" in the left half of the right display (going from the bottom to the top of it).
I had the same problem a while back with my Pod XT, where I had to re-install the software to get rid of this display malfunction.
What do you suggest?
Anyone else ever experienced this?
Ok it´s nothing big but it´s a bit disturbing and also a bit frightening to imagine this to happen in a LIVE situation, right?
Any suggestions/comments appreciated.

Aaaaah... the Vetta crashing on a gig... I know it well!!!

I haven't heard of THIS particular problem before... but MOST little quirks, such as this one, are solved by re-installing the OS.

Good luck

I'm not sure what's causing the problem, but Greg V's fix is the best thing to try (after the amp power cycle that you already did).

Well, I did it, but unfortunately after re-installing the OS incl. factory banks the slight display malfunction remains

any further ideas?

If the display has a stripe after a firmware install, I would think it would be a problem with the display. Was the problem there during the reinstall? If so, I suspect you might have hardware issues.

No, actually it´s not visible during the re-install.

So it's not there during the reinstall, but it's there afterward? That's very strange. I'm not sure what to suggest. I don't think it can be good though, so give Line 6 support a call/email.

Sir Maybe:
Re-download the software from Line 6's website and then reload the new software. If that doesn't do it you gotta call your line 6 representative in Europe. You deserve to have a working unit...

I have re-downloaded and re-installed V 2.03 three times now, as I suspected there might have been a corrupt .vtf file, but there´s no change.
So I´ll make a phone call with L6 Europe on Monday...
Thanks for your suggestions...

Had the same problem, amp was not booting, "Access Error" was shown in display. Downloading software did not fix issue. Amp was sent to GB, Mainboard with Flash ROM was exchanged and amp was reflashed. Amp workes now without problems even after upgrading to V 2.03.
Viele Grüsse!

Yeah, I was wondering about you and your "Access error" issue.
Fortunately my vetta works 100%, it´s only the little display malfunction. So I don´t believe it´s a hardware based failure in the first place.
Nathan Shane had some issues with access error too and thought it might have to do with V. 2.03 (if I remember correctly).
I will discuss this with L6 Europe before sending my Vetta out again.

Well, I´m updating this topic today, because this morning after uninstalling Line 6 Edit 1.99.7 and installing 1.99.8
THE DISPLAY MALFUNCTION WAS COMPLETELY GONE !!!

So now that´s strange and there´s still no sensible explanation for it.
I had stayed cool over this all the time because I was sure it wasn´t a hardware problem but somehow a software problem in the first place (I had talked to Line 6 Europe, too).
And besides, the Vetta was working 100% ok.

If anybody´s interested in what I was talking about (the display thing), drop me an email address and I´ll send you a .jpg
Bye

Glad to hear that. I'm pretty sure the Access Error has to do w/ line6 edit. I can recreate it by going to a couple of different patches and messing w/ the amp1/amp2 panning.
